Time to Reflect

I spent Thursday night out with someone I really care about.  She was beautiful and I think of her often.  Sometimes the item we are focusing on is best seen in it's reflection...

Canon 5D Mark II, 50 mm 1.8 at 1/250, ISO 6400.  Best lens under a $100.

Update

It's been a while again.  A few things have come and gone.  The biggest thing has been the offer to shoot video for a friends wedding.  It was this opportunity that had me learning new things about the video function of my Canon 5d Mark II.  Of those functions, I learned the most about auto focus.  There is none during video recording.  Turns out I will be on my own when the big day comes.  No worries.

I took this shot while learning some of the new functions.  I'm playing through all the possibilities in my head of what would be the best lens to get in order to better record the wedding.  More time to research, I've got a few months.

Canon 5D Mark II, with a 50mm 1.8 set to f/1.8 for 1/180 sec at ISO 100.

I was hoping this picture would be blue enough for those people out there looking for that kind of thing...

Really deep...

I've been less than excited to have to return this lens I borrowed from a friend at work.  It has captured some beautiful images for me.  This flower (type unknown) was spotted during my weekend run.  I subsequently chopped it off it's stock and brought it home to Leah.  Immediately following that presentation, I took it from her to photograph and then it died.  There could be a really REALLY deep life lesson in here...

Morning Commute

On my way to work I noticed this shot.  I pulled over to get into the trunk where my G10 was in order to use it for this shot.  Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I turn it on, I get the "replace battery" prompt.  Therefore I had to utilize my iPhone again.

I think the three palm trees make this shot.  I like how it seems like they are the single items causing the streaks across the clouds above them.  Lesson learned, get an extra battery pack...  and always have a backup plan.

Waiting...

Like these surfers, I'm just waiting for some action.  I know it's going to come, but I'm anxious.

Yes Robert, I'm using a macro lens as a telephoto, but it's working.  (Canon's 100mm Macro at 2.8 for 1/3000s (jeez, really?!?) ISO 800) I helped out the color a little in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.  Can't say enough good things about this product and I can't wait until number 3 comes out.

Went to Vegas...

My posts have been a little less organized lately...  You'll also notice some changes as I'm experimenting with advertisements.

But more importantly, this shot was taken from inside an opera house in Las Vegas.  We all went to the Phantom of the Opera show  [it was awesome].  This shot comes from my Canon
G10, which I still hold in the highest respects for reasons proven above.  It was hand held for 1.8sec at f 2.8, ISO 400.

Things are getting bigger...

Things are getting bigger around here... could this be a hint of things to come...?
Or perhaps, this is just a quirky way for me to bring up a trip with JTCashStack. It was during this trip that him and I traversed the mighty red wood forests in a Santa Fe.

One of the reasons I reference things getting bigger is in fact that today I coordinated the print of one of my shots. It was previously posted here.

More proof of things getting bigger you say? How about I learned enough HTML tonight to create links within text? Yeah, I thought so...
